Handicaps
All first time participants are required to have a valid USGA GHIN Handicap or will play as a zero handicap until scores are established. All scores will be recorded by Kearney Head Professional Chris Boysel and updated weekly to ensure the fairest of competitions. Scores will be calculated from the tee that you play. The goal is for all golfers to have an equal chance to compete and win. Chris has the authority to adjust handicaps each week based on scores. Please visit http://kygolf.org/eclub to register online for your handicap now.
Scoring
All score keeping will be done through the Golf Genius App on your phone. 1 player in each group will be responsible for entering hole by hole scores into the app. The online scoring is the OFFICIAL score. Groups that do not keep their score on the app and live hole by hole will be disqualified. Paper scorecards will be given each week as verification only. Paper scorecards will not be accepted as official scores. Actual gross scores are entered in the app and the appropriate handicap shots will be applied automatically.
The Golf Genius App (below) can be found on both the App Store (iphone) or Play Store (android) and is free to download

Local Rules
- USGA Rules will govern all play except when exempt from a local rule below.
- Ready Golf: Play ready golf! Play when you are ready to play regardless of “who’s away.” If you are next be preparing to hit your shot as long as you don’t interfere with another players shot.
- Pace of play: Maximum pace of play is 2:10/2:20 for 9 holes. Teams coming in after that allotted time will be assessed penalty shots. We are all here to have a good time, so let’s respect each other’s time.
- Preferred Lies: Ball can be rolled anywhere on the golf course up to 1 club length without changing condition, except in bunkers and penalty areas. Ball can be lifted, cleaned, and placed. Can’t go from rough to fairway, rough to green, etc.
- Maximum Score: Maximum of net double bogey per hole. Please pick up for pace of play.
- Putts/Finishing Hole: All putts must be holed, no gimmies, exception is when a player picks up for a NET double bogey or worse.
- Penalty Areas: All natural/heather/tall grass areas on the course are to be played as a Red Penalty Area whether marked or not with red lines/stakes. USGA Rule 17
- Lost Ball/Out of Bounds: New USGA local rule is also in effect. If your ball is lost or out of bounds, you may under penalty of 2 shots drop from the point where you think your ball may be lost or last crossed the out of bounds line and up to 2 club lengths into the fairway, no closer to the hole.
- Tee time/partner requests: Every week, we will have a shotgun start at 6:00 pm. Starting holes will be sent out in advance. You will be paired with your partner but the other team will be chosen at random.
- Time of Starting/Late to Tee: If a team arrives at their tee five minutes or less past their starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole. The player may tee-off and join their group with a 2 shot penalty. If a team arrives for their tee time more than five minutes after the starting time, they will be disqualified.
- Distance Measuring Device: Players are permitted to use optical devices (rangefinders) that measure distance based on a through-the-scope calculation by the player. GPS (global positioning system) devices with pre-programmed distances, and devices capable of gauging or measuring other conditions, are permitted. If GPS device shows slope or wind speed, these options must be disabled for tournament. Refer to USGA Rules of Golf for additional information
- Code of Conduct: Violations of the code of conduct include: abusive language, club throwing, cheating, disrespect of volunteers or officials, abuse to the golf course or the facilities, littering, or any other conduct unbecoming of a player. First offense: disqualification. Repeated violations may lead to rejection of future entries.

Though after the 2nd shots are hit the golfers are to finish the rest of the hole hitting their own ball wherever it may lay until holed. The team will finish the hole until both balls are either holed or a maximum of NET double bogey is reached. Team will count best ball combined for team score.

Handicap Allotment: 35% A + 15% B of full 9 hole handicap
Example: Player A has 7 handicap (at 100%) 35% = 2.45 = 2
Player B has 9 handicap (at 100%) 15% = 1.35 = 1
Team Handicap (for scramble) 3 shots
Week 6 – June 8th

If a team plays more than 3 holes from any tee, that team will be disqualified.
